Paint...design...survive...it's just something I have to do that's as natural as breathing. Do I have an artist's statement? Never really thought about one. I absorb and discard so many style aspects that it's tough to say “that‘s my style.” I've got one critic to satisfy...myself. My goal is to learn something new everyday.

Lately I've been using Photoshop quite a bit to create. I'm enjoying creating images which make statements about the current socio-economic climate. They're a cross between political satire cartoons and labor movement or constructivist style posters. Maybe think of it as precise digital graffiti...the clandestine propagation of ideas. Joe Strummer had Radio Clash...I have Radio Free Manatee.

“Tres Banjos!”
This design I've had for several years and finally committed myself to finish
it. It's a companion piece to “Strummin”

My wife says these types of designs I do lends themselves to quilting. She's working on
one based on the aforementioned “Strummin” and I hope this one catches her
fancy. This design has three stylized banjos. I used nine colors (factor of three) and
each color is only used three times .

Two paintings have been accepted for the ‘Staff Infection 5’ show to be held at the University of Rochester in August 2009. The paintings are two of my favorites from the Wargasm Series. The two are Kubrick's Algorithm and Transportation for the New Economy. I'm grateful and excited to have been selected.
